WHAT THE WORK INVOLVES

Know the home.
Understand the work.

Assess the existing system

Review the roof assembly, drainage, access points, penetrations, and any history of leaks. Existing documentation can help guide the assessment.

Define a practical scope

Compare repair, restoration, and replacement options against the building’s condition and operational needs. Not every system is a candidate for every approach.

Plan for occupied spaces

Coordinate access, scheduling, staging, and communications with the people who use the property. Confirm responsibilities before work is scheduled.

FROM FIRST QUESTION TO NEXT STEP

Before work begins.

01

Start with the condition.

Tell us about the leak, damage, or roof you want to replace. The existing assembly and site conditions shape the work.

02

Put the scope in writing.

Review materials, removal, flashing, ventilation, cleanup, and the work included in the estimate.

03

Agree on the details.

Confirm the schedule, access, payment terms, and how changes will be handled before authorizing construction.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few helpful
answers.

Do you handle insurance-related roofing projects?

Yes. Mainstead is an insurance contractor. Discuss the roof assessment, damage documentation, and contractor’s estimate with us. Your insurer determines coverage, claim payments, and your deductible under the policy.

Can I get an estimate without an insurance claim?

Yes. Mainstead also provides retail estimates for roofing and exterior projects. Share your address, the work you have in mind, and any material preferences so the project scope and availability can be discussed.

Do I need a repair or a full replacement?

The answer depends on the condition of the roof, the extent of damage, its age, and the existing assembly. An assessment can help distinguish a localized issue from a system-wide problem. A leak alone does not automatically mean the entire roof needs replacing.
